Funeral service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church in Apopka, Florida on January 25, 2014, at 10 am.
She was born on May 28, 1917, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to the late Fred and Verna Welker. Mae was married to her beloved husband, Harry C. Atkins, Sr., for 69 years, who preceded her in death in 2006.
Mae is survived by her children, Richard (Frances) Atkins, Russell (Judy) Atkins, H. Curtis (Sharen) Atkins, Jr., and Paula (Danny) Ezell, nine grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Russell Welker, Henry Welker, and Richard Welker, and one sister, Elveena Hill.
