Margaret Anne Flatt, born on August 15, 1948, in London, Ontario, Canada, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, at Cornerstone Hospice Center in Orlando, Florida, after a courageous battle with Non-Alcoholic End Stage Liver Disease and Heart Failure.
She was the beloved daughter of Dorothy Florene Ball and Lawrence Saucier. Margaret’s life was shaped by her strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family and faith. She fondly recalled her early childhood in Ontario and spent her preteen and teenage years as an army brat, living in Missouri, Michigan, Alaska, and eventually settling in Florida, where she graduated from Melbourne High School in 1966.
Margaret dedicated 40 years of her professional life to The Walt Disney Company, where she served as a Labor Specialist and foreman. She worked tirelessly behind the scenes, driving box trucks hauling ride cars and other large machinery, operating high reaches and forklifts, and ensuring the smooth operation of the parks. She often shared stories of camaraderie, hard work, and playful mischief in the tunnels beneath Magic Kingdom. Her dedication and professionalism earned her numerous awards, including the prestigious “Partners in Excellence” recognition.
She was a strong and fierce presence, known for her courage, determination, and integrity. She inspired those around her through mentorship, generosity, and guidance. She frequently helped younger coworkers, raised money for those in need, and assisted with celebrations such as retirements. She was deeply loved by her coworkers, many of whom became like extended family. To many, she was known simply as “Mom,” “Grandma,” or “Mrs. Flatt,” a reflection of her warmth, care, and guidance.
Margaret married William Henry Flatt, Sr. (Bill) in 1986, and they shared 26 years of marriage until his passing in 2012 from a massive stroke. Their enduring love and devotion now reunite them in heaven, where they are dancing together joyfully.
Margaret had a generous heart and often sacrificed for her family, always putting their needs above her own. She treasured time with her children and family, creating lasting memories through trips to the beach, Disney cruises, and visits to the Disney parks, where her favorite rides included Splash Mountain, The Great Movie Ride, and It’s a Small World. She loved simple joys, such as Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bars, and enjoyed quiet moments at home with her beloved kitty Minerva, sipping coffee while watching classic movies or the news.
A lover of music and film, Margaret enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley, Celine Dion, and Elton John, and delighted in classic films starring Debbie Reynolds and Audrey Hepburn. She also loved delicate and beautiful things, adoring lace, flowers, and the color pink, reflecting the elegance and softness that complemented her strong and spirited personality.
Margaret faced life’s challenges with courage and resilience, including surviving skin cancer in 2024. She was beautiful inside and out, with a heart of gold, always warm and caring, ready to offer a hug, words of encouragement, or advice. She loved people and could strike up a conversation with a stranger, yet treasured her private life at home with her family. Above all, she treasured her faith in the Lord, which guided her throughout her life.
Margaret is survived by her children: William ("Will," William Henry Flatt, Jr.), Sarah (Catherine) Flatt, Christina Marie Flatt, Dottie Honeycutt, and Richard Hamilton. She also leaves behind extended family, dear friends, and countless others whose lives she touched.
Margaret will be remembered for her fierce strength, generosity, mentorship, faith, and the loving presence she brought into every room. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she enriched.
She is deeply missed and will be forever remembered with love."
