

Margaret Beasley McCoy, 85, of Orlando, Florida went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. She is survived by her husband of almost 64 years, Tom McCoy. Born in Abbeville, Alabama, she was the youngest daughter of the late Robert Socia Beasley and Minnie Lee Beasley. She had two sisters and one brother, who all preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by their first child, Thomas Tyndall McCoy, Jr. After two years at Troy State, she and her college sweetheart married on March 19, 1950. They then moved to Auburn where Tom finished his degree. Upon graduation from Auburn, they moved to Birmingham where they started a career with State Farm Insurance. Margaret is survived by her husband, two daughters, Beth Thomas and her husband Blake of Ormond Beach, FL and Terri McCoy of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Laura Thomas Brown and her husband Clint , Lindsey Thomas and Luke Thomas. Margaret loved to garden, cook (Southern style), was an avid reader and loved being a grandmother. She was precious to many and dearly loved by her family. A service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. , Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at St. Luke's Methodist Church at 4851 S. Apopka-Vineland Road, Orlando, FL 32819. In addition, a graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, AL on Thursday, March 13 at 3:00 p.m. In honor of Margaret please contribute to the charity of your choice.
