

Mary Virginia McNeely, 03/07/1935 - 07/03/2026, went peacefully in her sleep at the age of 91. Born in Portland, Maine to parents Marshall Hurlburt and Toini Ikola Hurlburt, but spent most of her life in Florida. Her parents managed Freddie's Steakhouse in Maitland where she worked as a teenager. She later married Melvin Waters and together had two children, Melony and Mel. After they divorced Mary moved to Apopka in 1967 where her brother, Fred Hurlburt, was the Basketball coach at Apopka Memorial High School, and got a job at GreenFuel, later becoming Texgas. Mary volunteered at Loaves and Fishes Apopka for over 25 years. Many will remember her smiling face at those 2 locations plus when she worked at Liggetts, Eckerds, and CVS. She married Marvin McNeely in 1973 and together enjoyed 22 years of fishing almost every weekend at Lake Tohopekaliga, local lakes or oceans. Mary loved the Lord Jesus Christ, Her family, all Gods critters (especially dogs), and the USA.
Mary is survived by children Melony Pyburn (Charles), Mel Waters (Robin), Many loved grandchildren, Great grandchildren and Great great grandchildren.
She will be buried next to her husband Marvin, at Woodlawn Cemetery on July 18th. 10am - 11am visitation followed by funeral services at 11am.
