

She was born on October 31, 1929 in Eustis, Florida to the late John & Anna Rich, one of 12 siblings.
And she enjoyed her marriage to her dear Troy Martin for over 50 years. Her strength and faith in God made up the bedrock of their beautiful family together, and they lived as true partners in all they did.
Never afraid of a challenge, Mattie worked as a rural postal carrier for the United States Postal Service for two and a half decades! But, her family celebrates her role as Homemaker even more richly. A talented cook, everyone always found all of their favorite recipes with Ms. Mattie. In other moments, you might likely find her reading her Bible or some of the Guideposts, fishing, camping, or cheering on her favorite basketball team, the University of Kentucky Wildcats! Mattie’s friends and family carry her strength with them, and miss her very much.
She was preceded in death by her dear parents; her beloved husband, Troy Martin; and her dear son, Jeff Martin.
Mattie is survived by her children, Tommy C. Martin (Amparo) of Orlando, Paul Martin (Polly) of Astatula, and Ann Martin of Fort Lauderdale; and numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband, and along with her Family in Stanton Cemetery – Stanton, Kentucky, and the services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. Services in Kentucky will be under the direction of Hearne Funeral Home, Inc., Stanton, Kentucky.
