

Maureen Huybers went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2026, surrounded by her beloved husband, Rick Huybers, in their home in Orlando, Florida. A faithful servant of Christ, Maureen was a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where she participated in the Council of Catholic Women and was a leader in the St. Vincent DePaul Society, serving those in need for many years.
Maureen was born in Washington, D.C. in 1954 to John and Mary (Leslie) Boylan. She was the second of six children and a second mother to her four younger sisters. Maureen spent her childhood in West Orange, NJ, surrounded by loving grandparents, a host of aunts and uncles, and many cousins, with whom she spent holidays and took family trips, with especially happy times in the Pocono Mountains with the extended Leslie clan.
Maureen graduated from East Orange Catholic High School in 1972, where she excelled in painting and drawing and was recognized for her artistic talents. Maureen moved to south Florida in the late 1970s, where she began a long career in the insurance industry. As a consummate people person, Maureen soon rose through the ranks, serving for several decades as an insurance executive in south Florida and the Orlando area.
Maureen met the love her life, Rick Huybers, at a work function in 1984. Within a year they were married and built a beautiful life together sharing their deep faith and a love for family and friends. Young at heart, Maureen loved spending time at DisneyWorld with Rick and her sister Nance.
In addition to Rick, Maureen is survived by her five siblings: John Boylan of East Hanover, New Jersey; Jeanne Goshen (Andy) of Jacksonville, Florida; Ellen Boylan (Dennis White) of Summit, New Jersey; Nance Boylan of Jacksonville, Florida; and Beth Boylan (Dan Mulvaney) of Ocean, New Jersey; four nieces: Rachel, Nora, Claire, and Maggie; and nephews John David Huybers (Mimi) and Tyler Goshen. Maureen’s bright spirit, beautiful smile, and joy for life will live on in all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, located at 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL, 34734, on January 15, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral mass will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5125 S Apopka Vineland Rd, Orlando, FL, 32819, on January 16, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Burial will take place on Thursday, January 22 at 1:30 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, Florida.
