

Born on August 7, 1930, in Ashland, Kentucky. Maxine was the daughter of the late Leon and Blanche Thompson Lewis. Her loving husband of 67 years, Herbert Eldridge Felty, Jr. preceded her in death on July 12, 2016. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Vernon and Robert Lewis, and sisters, Evelyn Cantrell and Barbara Bush.
Maxine was born into a Christian family and God and the church were priorities in her life. She began piano lessons at age 5 and loved it from the beginning. By the time she was 18 years old, she was accompanying the Gate City Four Quartet on WSAZ Radio and going with the quartet to churches all over the state of West Virginia. Music dominated her life and resulted in 50 years of church ministry, serving as organist for Grace Church of the Nazarene for 14 years and organist and pianist for First Church of the Nazarene until her retirement. In addition to her music ministry, she was employed as a Pastor-Financial Secretary for 17 years; 5 years in First Church of Nazarene and 12 years in First Baptist Church in Ashland, KY.
Maxine is survived by her daughter, Krista Felty Casterline (Terry); granddaughter, Jeana Michelle Mischka (Randy), and three great grandchildren, Kyle Brown (Jessy), Austin Mischka and Alyssa Mischka.
Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, September, 12 at 11am at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, Viewing will be at 10:30 and burial will follow service at Woodlawn.
