Michael Stuard Parks, 53 of Apopka, passed away last week at his home after complications from transplant surgery. He was born October 26, 1957 in Bluefield, W. VA, son to Jim and Lila Parks, current Orlando residents. Michael served in the US Navy and was discharged in 1976. He toured the US and enjoyed camping for several years. Michael had many loves, camping, boating, making music and jamming with his close friends on his drums. He was an avid Florida State football fan and relished in the excitement when they were able to win over the University of Florida and Miami. A true fan of the Washington Redskins through thick and thin, he never gave up. Michael, a bachelor, is survived by is parents, Jim and Lila Parks of Orlando; sister, Pam Poe of Chuluota, FL. Mike will be remembered by his many close friends and his best buddy, Porter the dog.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 3 at 12 Noon in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
