Michael Paul Rising

Michael Paul Rising, 58 of Celebration, Florida, died suddenly and peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. He was born on June 12, 1957 in Lockport, New York where he attended DeSalles Catholic and Bryant Stratton Business School. Michael moved to St. Pete, Florida in 1993. He worked for Darden Restaurants from that time until his time of death, with a brief hiatus of employment at Universal Studios. Michael is survived by his partner and husband of 23 years, Jeremy Sherman, his three children, Derek (Christine), Bethany, and Timothy, five grandchildren, his siblings Lynne, David, Clifford, Lisa, and Laurie, and his beloved dog Elliot. He is predeceased by his parents Clifford and Virginia Rising and sister Shari Poole. Michael enjoyed shopping, taking vacations at Sanibel Island, and loved spending time with his grandchildren, who adored him. A visitation will take place on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, Florida 34734 from 1-4 pm, followed immediately by a memorial service and catered reception celebrating Michael's life.
