

On September 4, 2024, Milagros Altagracia Canela de Marin (90), a resident of Orlando, Florida finally entered her eternal rest. Born on December 16, 1933, in San Pedro De Macoris, Dominican Republic was the beloved daughter of Delio and Maria Canela. She is survived by her three children, Pelayo, Lourdes, Jaime, stepsons Jose Danilo and Henry Marin, along with her grandchildren, Joanna, Giancarlo, Christina, Tyler, Enrique, Emilio, and Eliana, and her great-granddaughter, Rylee Grace. As well as, step-grandchildren, Quaid, Keaton & Cayden.
Milagros was known for her love of working in her yard. You would easily find her wearing a headscarf and carrying an old machete no matter what the temperature was. She also enjoyed sharing the fruits of her labor by giving away bags full of avocados, mangos, or grapefruits.
Milagros had amazing culinary skills which brought everyone together at the table. Her love for cooking transformed meals into a delightful paradise of flavors for anyone who would visit. Her grandchildren also loved her vanilla cake which she would make fresh each time they came. As an avid writer, Milagros often reflected on her thoughts as a devout Christian. Her love of the Lord was exemplified in her colorfully annotated bibles and notebooks which contained personal thoughts and poems that capture her expressive and artistic style. Her love for Jesus was well known by her friends and family, who could attest to her strong faith. Milagros will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, thoughtful neighbor, and above all a devout Christian whose tranquil and peaceful soul will be missed by all.

A visitation for Milagros will be held Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. A funeral service will occur Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. A committal service will occur Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Oaklawn Park Cemetery, 4991 Co Rd 46A, Lake Mary, FL 32746.
