Carolyn was born March 12, 1927, in Coffee County, Alabama, to the late Alvin Lee and Elizabeth Simmons Chancey.
After moving to Central Florida with her husband and family in 1958, Carolyn worked in healthcare at Sunland Hospital, West Orange Memorial Hospital, and Health Central. She was a faithful member of Ocoee Church of God. She spent her free time quilting, tending to her flowers in her yard, cooking and baking, and loving her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herman Ralph Sasser, son Alvin Monroe Sasser, brother Louis Chancey and sisters Etha Mae Prescott and Ollie Ruth Hickman.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter Myra Johnson (Clifton) of Ocoee and daughter-in-law Linda Anderson (Don) of Southaven, MS; two granddaughters Kristie Young (Dan) of Southaven, MS and Rebecca Smith of Ocoee; two great-granddaughters Kasie Rose and Alexis Young; one great-great-grandson Eli Williams; and, a host of other family and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 20, from 1pm to 2pm.
The funeral service will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home beginning at 2pm, with Bishop Thomas Odom of Ocoee Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
