Nancy Joyce Hall was born April 8th, 1940. Since she was a child, she has been a stabilizing force in the life of everyone she has ever met. She helped care for and love her sisters since a she was a child. When she had her own children; she worked around the clock to ensure that their needs were taken care of; all along instilling in them the values that she was widely known for. Strength, Trust, Compassion, Intelligence, and Adventure are the values that she lived by. They helped her grow her sons into the men that they are today. When Nancy met James Hall, she found a partner who held all of the same values that she did and who could be a rock in her life as she would be the rock in everyone else’s. Nancy loved her husband and her children as she loved her life. With her husband James, she loved and grew with a strength and commitment that is rarely seen today. The two shared 40 years of love and marriage. Theirs was a love which transcended all boundaries and events, a love that will never end. Despite the loss that they have suffered, their love continues and will always continue even when they are re-united for all eternity.
When Nancy was blessed with grandchildren her life became fuller than she could have ever imagined. She spent every waking hour of her life caring for and spoiling them to no end. Like with so many others, she took on the responsibility of being the rock of their lives. Problems and complaints, she heard them all! Despite taking on the stress and problems of others, she was able to offer a kind word and a solution to any problem presented to her. There are few amongst us who would ever doubt the statement that “she knows everything”. All of her help and advice was accomplished while keeping an ever present smile on her face that she became famous for. While helping with all the problems of the world, she still found the time to do what she loved in life. She wrote poetry, she traveled the world, she painted and sewed, she grew her own plants and trees; despite being born with a black thumb, and she cooked meals that made her family fat!
For all of her compassion and caring, she developed and sharpened a ruthless business ethic that she became known for the world over. She never took no for an answer, she never settled for second best, she never cheated her employees or customers, and she never backed down. Her strength in business helped bring stability to not only her own family, but to over fifty families that depended on her prowess. She took pride in the nickname of “The Dragon Lady”. It was given to her by the head of one of the largest international companies in the world who valued her tenacity, toughness, cunning, and friendship. They wrote letters to each other for many years, even when there was no business needs between them.
She was the strongest woman that many of us have ever known, and that we ever will know. She loved a good martini and she loved a good laugh. She loved her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. Her favorite color was red and she never went anywhere without looking more fabulous than everyone else in the building (and she knew it too!). She is and will always be our Nanu.
Nancy is survived by her husband James Hall, her sisters Carla and Barbara, and her four sons Paul, Samuel, Mark and Luke. Her Grandchildren Paul, Samantha, Veronica, Daisy, Ian, Max, and Jack. Her Great Grandchildren Elora, Falynn, and Ryleah.
