Nicholas “Nick” Narushko, 89, of Orlando Florida, passed away on March 19, 2018. Nick was born in Uncasville, Connecticut on January 13, 1929 the late Alex and Stella Narushka, and was a member of the Catholic Church.
He moved to Daytona Beach, Florida in 1946 and graduated High School from Seabreeze High in 1947. While in Daytona, they were proud to work the concession stands on Silver Beach for the stock car and motorcycle races that took place, and was an investor in the Daytona NASCAR races while they were still racing on the beach itself.
Nick proudly served in the United States Army in the 11th Airborne Division; Paratrooper, as a Staff Sargent.
Nick met the love of his life, Ramona and they were married in 1954. They lived in Baltimore, Maryland, for a few years before moving to Orlando in 1957 to work with Martin Marietta. While there, he received a degree in engineering and became a senior engineer. His main project was the Pershing Missile Program and retired after 30 years with the company. He was also an investor in Real Estate and along with his brother, he owned and maintained numerous duplexes.
He faithfully served 53 years in the Marco Hunting and Fishing Club as there past President at Lake Eleanor.
He loved fishing, hunting and eating Alex's fine foods. He enjoyed his hunting trips to Montana, Nebraska, and Wyoming with his Brothers, Raymond, and Tony. They would hunt for antelope, pheasants, turkey, elk and deer. Nick also loved to Cruise, and had a passion for visiting Alaska.
Nick is predeceased by his brothers, Mike and Tony.
Nick is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ramona, his brother Raymond, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Nick's Life will be held on Friday March 23, 2018 at 3:15PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, located at 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, Florida 34734.
