She was born in Princeton, West Virginia on March 25th, 1922, to the Late Reverend Eugene and Mrs. Florence Kahle.
Ouida graduated from Princeton High School and attended Concord College in Athens, West Virginia where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree and was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority.
She was married to the late Earl James Harman on May 11,1943.
She was a member of the First Brethren Church of Orlando, where she directed the choir. Later she moved her membership to First United Methodist Church of Orlando, where she remained a member until her passing.
She enjoyed a career in Teaching in public schools both in West Virginia and Florida. She retired from the Orange County public school system in 1987. She volunteered at the First United Methodist Church in Sewing for others, Orlando Public Library as assistant Librarian, the Westminster Towers Library, and the Orlando Day Nursery. She served was on the Board of Directors and as president for two years at the Orlando Day Nursery and loved to garden in her yard and took up watercolor painting late in her life.
Ouida was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.
She was survived by two sons, Earl N. Harman husband of Paula A Harman, and Reverend James S. Harman, husband of Margarete M. Harman, six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
A private Service will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida on Sunday, September 12th, 2021.
