Patrick Robert Barrow, age 73 passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Bob was born March 17, 1948, in Daytona Beach, Florida, to Claude Alexander and Isabel Anna Barrow. Bob graduated from Bunnell High School in Bunnell, Florida. Bob joined the Air Force in 1966 and served until 1971 including two tours of duty overseas in Guam and Vietnam. Following the military, he attended both Valencia Community College and Rollins College in their Business Administration program. Bob entered into the fire service in 1972 with Orlando Fire Department as a Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician. In 1975 he joined Reedy Creek Improvement District Emergency Services at Walt Disney World where he was a Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician and rose to the level of Deputy Fire Chief in 1992. Bob was a member of numerous Fire Protection Associations, Sons of the American Revolution, Vietnam Veterans of Central Florida and Co-Sponsor of the Children’s Burn Camp of Florida. After his retirement, Bob served for over 12 years as the President of the Falcon Pointe Homeowners Association.
He is survived by his grandson Kyle Hudson Barrow and four siblings: Margaret Ann English, Claude “Buddie” Barrow, Donald “Donnie” Barrow and Edward “Eddie” Barrow. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Blackie and “granddog” Yeti. He is predeceased by his son Jeffrey Wayne Barrow who passed away in 2017 and his brother Paul Barrow who passed away in 2011.
Bob’s passion was always family – making sure all holidays were celebrated at his home and always wanted the biggest and best Christmas tree!
A gathering of family and friends for Bob will be held Thursday, October 14, 2021, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Gotha, Florida. A memorial/celebration of life service will occur Thursday, October 14, 2021, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a committal service from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
While flowers are welcome, the family would appreciate donations to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
