Peggy Jean Allen Venegas, age 89, of Altamonte Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 6th, 2026. Born on December 1st, 1936, in Adairville, Kentucky, Peggy was the beloved daughter of Willie A. Allen and Lula H. Martin.
Following the passing of her father in 1944, Peggy moved with her mother and siblings—her brothers Willie T. Allen and Paul F. Allen—to Nashville, Tennessee, before the family eventually relocated to Florida to join her eldest brother, Robert M. Allen. She attended Boone High School in Orlando, graduating in 1954, where she met her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Justo Hugo Venegas. The two were united in marriage on March 16th, 1956 and remained faithfully united for over 68 years until Hugo’s passing July 6, 2024.
Peggy worked in the banking profession for several years while raising her young family and actively assisted her husband in his various business ventures. Highly talented in the arts, she expressed her creative abilities through music, painting, and illustrating. Later in life, she dedicated herself to ministry, serving her most productive years as a pastor and co-pastor at Emmanuel Church of Christ in Orlando. A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, her deep-rooted faith was the central force of her life, and through her personal ministry, she led and baptized nearly 300 souls to Christ.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hugo, on July 6th, 2024. Peggy was a loving wife and a devoted mother to her children, Reynaldo A. Venegas, Kathy E. Jones, and Rebecca L. Rood. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Rachel Jones, Melissa Quiles, Tyler Venegas, Matthew Jones, and Alexander Venegas, as well as seven great-grandchildren.
As Peggy is laid to rest, her legacy of faith, creative talent, and compassionate service will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her family finds great comfort in knowing she is reunited in peace with her Lord and beloved husband. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit and ministry live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
