Daddy, it has been three years today since God took you home to be with him.  I miss you so much but I am not sad because as a person that accepted Christ as her personal savior there is hope.  I know that I will see you again when God calls me home or raptures his church.
  Daddy I am doing what you told me in what was our last conversation.   To lean on the Lord and He will be my father since my earthly father wld be with him.  I do not cry but thank God that he gave you 86 years here in earth and  an eternity in Heaven. 
  I have remained strong in my faith in God and telling people about God.  I have such precious memories with you daddy and will have an eternity  in Heaven. I know that you are having an amazing time in Heaven

This will be a shock to any of the family members who read it, but as a now 67 year old man, I am always amazed at the impact people can have without knowing it.  I was a little third grader in a small farming town called Harrison, Illinois when Rev. Lang took the pastorate of the church there, and became the bus driver for Harrison Elementary School.  I think the family only stayed about a year, perhaps less.  But Rev. Lang had such an impact on me as a little boy.  He was always gentle and kind to me, and I held him in such high respect.  Heather was in first grade, and again, how amazing that people can pass through our lives, not knowing the effect they have!  Heather was such a sweet little girl that I never forgot her.  Because of her, the name Heather always held positive connotations for me, and I made up my mind that if I ever had a daughter, I would name her Heather in hopes that she would have such a sweet spirit like Heather Lang.  I did eventually grow up and have a daughter, who I did name Heather, and she did/does have such a sweet spirit.  I went on to become a pastor myself and have been so for over 30 years.  I have no idea if anyone in the family even remembers me.  But I certainly remember Rev. Lang and Heather, and will be forever grateful to them for the brief but lasting impact on my life.  Thank-you Rev. Lang and Heather!

Pastor Lang was amazing preacher he was a blessing to take to I cant for got the sermon he preach with the trash can it one of my favorites is miss him and love hime love u guys.

What a faithful servant of the Lord! I am rejoicing in his graduation. He deserves his rest! Sure, he will be greatly missed by those who have enjoyed his presence; but I have already learned how to miss him for some years now.

Bro. Lang baptized me in the fall of 1974. I attended his church for one year, my senior year of high school. It was under his preaching that God called me to preach the gospel.

I still remember the cards he handed out that gave us questions to ask and scriptures to turn to so we could lead a soul to Christ.

Bro. Lang is most responsible for me becoming a soul winner. I still go soul winning every week and am still pastoring the church he recommended to me 21 years ago.

One story I want to share is when he took a group of young people to Bible College (Hyles-Anderson). We had to stay one night in a motel (he paid for it). There were three ladies and three guys. Us guys got to carousing around and wrestling in our room which was adjacent to his. There was a door between. Bro. Lang heard the ruckus and came through the door wearing only his underwear and said he could whip all of us at once. We decided to take him on since one of us was a former Texas State champion! But true to his word, and despite our supposed "advantage," he whipped us all!!

What a man's man he was! What a man of God he was! I could tell so many stories, (I was there for the first week of camp ever held at Apache Creek Deaf and Youth Ranch) but I reckon everyone else who knew and loved him could, too.

God bless all of his children and grandchildren, both physical and spiritual.

Daddy, I love you and miss you but I know you are in Heaven.  You were always such a faithful servant preaching God’s word and leading thousands to know and accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior.  I was always my daddy’s shadow when I was young.  I learned from my Daddy how to accept Jesus into my heart at a young age. I also learned to help people that were less fortunate than I.  To have a servants heart and to be a very hard worker. Most importantly to be faithful in church and witness to others.  Daddy your legacy lives on in your children.   This is just a see you later not a good-by.  I love you daddy 

I have been attending Apache Creek Deaf and Youth Ranch since I was a little girl and I have made many spiritual decisions there. I will always remember Bro. Lang preaching about being a light to the lost world and telling others about Christ. I am thankful for his faithfulness and desire to serve the Lord. He will be greatly missed! 

Many memories when he was Pastor at First Baptist Church in Dwight Illinois. Also, had the opportunity to go to Apache Creek with the construction company I worked for. Here is a copy of one of the memories. 

Brother Lang had read in the newspaper that he could buy a real monkey for not very much money. He sent for it, and the monkey arrived on a train in Dwight. Brother Lang would present the monkey at the service each Sunday and tell the church he would give the monkey away to the child who brought the most visitors during the program. He even announced this on his daily radio program, telling folks to come see the real live monkey at First Baptist Church.
Dr. Joe Boyd was the guest preacher for a revival during that time, and he thought it was the greatest promotion he had ever heard. He even went so far as to order a monkey for himself and had it shipped to the Franklin Road Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where he would be speaking next month. The Big Day came at Dwight, and the church was packed. Brother Lang asked the young people who had brought visitors to stand and tell how many, but none of the mothers would allow their children to stand. Not a single child stood, and Brother Lang was stuck with the monkey. Finally, a church family that lived in the country agreed to take the monkey. That winter, the monkey died. Dr. Boyd called a few weeks later and said that he thought Brother Lang had a good idea, but none of the parents would let their children count their visitors. Brother Lang said, “I know, Brother Joe.”

Love you preacher!! My life’s been changed because of your faithfulness and follow through for our Lord Jesus!! Thank you my family and children thank you as well ! You will be missed but will meet back in heaven again someday !!
