Raymond Hamm passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in Orlando, Florida. He was 74 years old. He was born in Grassy Creek, North Carolina on January 21st, 1940 to Elmer and Barbara Hamm. He was extremely close to his six siblings – Evone, Conley, Berman, Sarah, Sam and Keith. Raymond had a family who adored him – wife JoAnn, daughter Tina, son-in-law John, daughter Barbie and grandchildren – Heather, Randi, Kenneth, Jennifer, John, Michael, and great granddaughter McKenzie. In 1959 he moved to Youngstown, Ohio where he met his soul mate, JoAnn. Tuesday, October 21st will have been their 53rd wedding anniversary. Theirs was a true love story – built on commitment, respect and love. Even at the end of his life, Raymond’s main concern was not himself; he was more concerned that his beloved wife, JoAnn, would always be taken care of. Their love transcends life and will continue on through death.Ray lived his life as a strong, quiet, loving and peaceful man. He was extremely talented and owned a small business for over 20 years, Diamond Seating, which manufactured furniture. He spent his free time doing for others. It was a labor of love for him to design and build one-of-a-kind furniture for his family and to plant a garden every year so that he could share all of his vegetables. Raymond left this earth just as he lived his life – strong, quiet, loving and peaceful. He was a man of faith and was surrounded by his loving family as he left to be with the Lord. Raymond will be buried in his favorite blue jeans and the family would like to encourage all those who attend the viewing and/or funeral to wear your favorite blue jeans as a tribute to this deeply loved man.
