Robert “Bob” Dale Barringer, 93, of Clermont, FL left us peacefully to be with our Lord on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. He was born on July 30, 1927 to the late Osa and Hazel Barringer in Rock Creek, Minnesota. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. While never afraid to work, he set an exceptional example and instilled a strong work ethic for his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed talking about all the adventures he had experienced in his life and always had a story to tell. When he wasn’t working or enjoying a long walk around the neighborhood, you could find him at the local baseball field hitting or throwing baseballs to his son or grandsons. He was one of the biggest fans of the Tampa Bay Rays and would talk about baseball to whomever would listen. He had never met a stranger he didn’t call a friend. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Bob is survived by his children: Debbie Keriazes, Linda Boucher and husband Ken, and Robert “Bobby” Barringer and his wife Ashley; his adored grandchildren: Andrea Keriazes, Ryan Markell and wife Abby, Justin Markell and wife Emily; his cherished great: grandchildren, Owen and Logan and friends too numerous to mention. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by Wanda, his beloved wife of 70 years who passed away earlier this year in April 2021; his grandson, Alex and his son-in-law, Gus Keriazes.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Thursday, August 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 261 S McGee Street, Apopka. This will be a day on which to celebrate the lives of both Robert and Wanda and to honor what would have been their 71st wedding anniversary. They will be laid to rest together privately in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. In recognition of Bob’s dedication and service to his country, military honors will be rendered at the cemetery.
