

Robert “Bob” Greenway was born in Saltsburgh, PA in 1928 to a French mother and an American father who met during WWI in France. His childhood was shared between Pittsburgh, PA and Blois, France with his older brother William. Bob enjoyed formative years with his brother and cousin, Bob Robosson, and attended Perry High School until October 1945 when he joined the Army. He was ultimately placed in Troop C, 42nd Squadron, 2nd regiment of the US Constabulary as a Scout Car Commander in Germany. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1947, he continued to share time between the US and Europe until marrying Elinor Watts in Paris in 1957. Bob then worked to obtain a B.A. from the University of Virginia and started a career in education teaching History and French. He and Elinor then settled in Lexington, MA and raised two children, Pamela and Robert. During the parenting years, Bob obtained Masters Degrees from Boston University and Columbia University and worked as a Guidance Counselor at Bedford High School, retiring in 1991. Bob and Elinor remained in Lexington for 45 years enjoying friends, helping to raise grandchildren Sarina and Maxton, and frequently traveled to Europe. Bob was passionate about researching his blood lines as a Certified Genealogical Record Specialist. In 2010, Bob and Elinor moved to Orlando, Florida. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements under the direction of Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, Gotha, FL.
