Ronald John Franzen Sr., 80, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Saturday May 30, 2015. Ronald was born on February 7, 1935 in Maquoketa, Iowa to the late Frank and Irene Franzen. Ronald was retired from the U.S. Air Force and from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was a head usher for many years. Ron enjoyed going to Publix and Walmart and seeing all of his friends and making sure daily operations were running smoothly. He also enjoyed just relaxing by the pool watching TV or sitting on the dock enjoying a cigar. Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Shirley Franzen, children, Ronald Franzen Jr., Debbie (Curt) McDowell, Robert (Rhonda) Franzen, Richard (Susan) Franzen, Dawn (Rex) Rowe, Denise (Scott) Randolph, his brother, Victor (Marcia) Franzen, twenty four loving grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday June 6, 2015 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm with a Funeral Service to follow at 3:00pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home in the Grove.
