She was born in Kingston, Jamaica on May 7, 1950, to Violet McKinson and Augustus Thomas.
Rosie left Jamaica in 1970 for England for school and training.
Rosie graduated from St. Hugh's High School and received a nursing license from Colchester Hospital in Colchester, England.
In 1974 she moved to the USA to Hartford, CT.
She married Ceron Kirlew on May 1, 1976. She relocated her family to Orlando, Florida in 1989.
Rosie had a career as a registered nurse for Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, CT, Visiting Nurse Assoc. of Florida, Genex Services, Lake Mary(retired).
She had a passion for gardening, her faith, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Tanya Fields and her husband, Bobby Fields, Jr., and Michele Kirlew. Grandchildren, Shamar Robinson, Benjamin Fields, Brandon Fields, Jah'mese Robinson, and Braxton Fields; siblings, Daphne Stephenson, Enid Kelly, and Stanley Thomas; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ceron Kirlew and her brother, Kenneth Thomas.
Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734, US, on August 21, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Visitation will also be held at Holy Family Episcopal Church, 1010 N Hiawassee Rd, Orlando, FL 32818, US, on August 22, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service at Holy Family Episcopal Church on August 22, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
