Sadie Mae Mountz

Sadie Mae Mountz, 97, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on August 22, 2017 after a long illness. She was born in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky on June 17, 1920. Sadie received a high school degree from Kavanaugh High School. She was married to Hjalmr W. Mountz on February 7, 1941. Sadie was mostly a housewife, loving mom, and grandmother. She worked briefly at a cosmetic company and at Disney World. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mesa, and had a passion for roses and cooking. She is survived by her children; Billie Pearch (Bob), Dianne Mendleson (Jack), and Marlene Mountz; grandchildren, Bryon and Scott Pearch, Paula McKain, Tammy Dickerson, Laura McClellan and Carla Mendleson; eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Hjalmar; one brother and two half-sisters. A visitation will be held on Thursday August 31, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, Florida 34734. A Celebration of Life will be held in Mesa, Arizona at a later date.
