Sandy Rue Sams (Fortenberry) left this world on February 3, 2023 in her hometown of Orlando, FL just short of her 71st birthday. She was a loving mother, granny/nay, great-granny/nay with a vibrant and outgoing personality that encouraged conversation and friendship wherever life took her. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Thurman "Pete" and Bessie Fortenberry (Edwards) and her beloved furbaby, Gandolf. She is survived by her sister, Sue Cavanaugh (William); daughters Lisa Beyer (Robert) & Dana Wasley (Eric Sr.); six grandchildren; Eric Wasley Jr., Debra Dosemagen (Kenneth), Tyler Wasley, Alexander Wasley (Sarah), Raymond White (Miranda), Bryan White; and five great-grandchildren; Khloe Wasley, Chase Wasley, Gwenyth Dosemagen, Abigail Dosemagen, and Wrynn Wasley.
A Celebration Gathering will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
A private interment will be held immediately following the Gathering.
