She was born in Orlando, Florida on June 29, 1929 to the late Jim Finn and Sarah Jane (Kilpatrick) Jones.
Sarah Lou met her beloved husband, Beverly “Bev” Miller, while they were both serving in church, with her playing the piano and him singing bass. They have been married for 66 years, raising a beloved family together.
Sarah Lou has thoughtfully continued her service to her church and her community in countless ways. She taught Sunday School, and played piano with Christmas carolers for folks that could not leave their homes every year for 29 years. She wrote stacks of greeting cards to keep encouragement flowing toward everyone she knew, from their birthdays to “Get Well” encouragements. Sarah Lou called somebody every day to check in on them. If she found a public figure needed encouragement, she would be the one to pass a card around to sign for that person at church, Perkins, anywhere she went. No one was beyond her grasp and her prayer list, and everybody knew that with her, they were loved.
Sarah Lou was a patriot and a planter of seeds-of-faith. She loved her Lord, family, friends and fur-babies; and, while they already miss her dearly, they plan to honor her Life by continuing to fill their own with spreading beauty, truth and humor wherever they go.
Sarah Lou is survived by her dear husband, Beverly L. Miller; son, David Miller with daughter-in-law, Banni Miller; daughter, Sarah Ann Miller; sister, Mary Ellen McDaniels; and, her whole community that loves her.
