Sylvia danced her way into heaven on April 8th, 2015. Sylvia was born in Huntsville, Alabama and she was the youngest of 11 brothers and sisters, who have all preceded her in death. In 1946 Sylvia was crowned Miss Huntsville.
She met the love of her life, Ralph Carpenter, in 1952 and moved to Greenfield, Indiana where they raised their family. Sylvia was a Master Cosmetologist and achieved that degree in 1967. They moved to Ocoee in 1973 to live out the rest do their lives together. Sylvia owned and operated two very successful hair salons, "Sylvia's Cut and Curl", located in Ocoee and Winter Garden. Throughout Sylvia's life she enjoyed her family, friends, camping, gardening, cooking, crocheting, and most of all her grandchildren. Sylvia was preceded in death by Ralph in 1999. Sylvia is survived by her two sons Charles Stanley and Fred Carpenter, four grandchildren; Greg, Kim, Katie, and Hanna. Sylvia was also blessed to be a great-mother to another five great grandchildren; Ethan, Jonathon, Olivia, Kyleigh, and Joshua.
May you forever dance with all of your husband, bothers, sisters, and among God's angels.
