Thomas A. Umbel, 73, of Orlando died Monday, July 29 in Tahiti. He was born July 14, 1940 in McClellandtown, Pa., the son of the late Dorsey and Mariam (Parnell) Umbel. Before his retirement, he was employed by Martin Marietta in Orlando. He is survived by his long time companion, Kathy Overchuck, of Orlando, and his daughter Michele Hassing, (Jim), of Philadelphia, Pa. Tom is also survived by his grandchildren, Leah, Tommy and Jim, his sister Patty Jones (George), his brother Richard Umbel (Marilyn), both of Greensburg, Pa., and nephews David Jones, Kenneth and Richard Umbel and niece Susan Jones. He will also be missed by Kathy's children, Kathleen and John, and her grandson Riley. Funeral arrangements will be handled by Woodlawn Memorial Park at 5:00pm on Wednesday August 21, 2013.
