Todd was born on July 9, 1949 in Exeter, New Hampshire to Donald Leslie Harris and Caroline Stimpson Harris. His family lived in multiple Southern states throughout Todd’s childhood and he enjoyed exploring each new place. One of his fondest early memories was attending the Masters Tournament with his mom and his brother Scott, where he chose to follow Arnold Palmer around Augusta National. Todd attended college at Middle Tennessee State University as a distinguished student athlete.
Following college, Todd embarked on a remarkable 50-year career at Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge where he served as Head Tennis Professional. He was a pillar of the Bay Hill community, adored by members and colleagues alike. He was a skilled, patient, and graceful coach, and a steadfast friend to those he taught and worked with.
Some of Todd’s greatest joys were fine dining and attending church with his wife Peggy, fishing & hunting trips and cheering on the Florida Gators with his son Todd, fishing in the backyard with his grandsons James and William, walking his stepdaughter Autumn down the aisle, and enjoying music with his whole family.
Todd is preceded in death by his father Donald Harris, mother Caroline Harris, brother Scott Harris, and stepson Tony Spencer.
Todd is survived by his loving and devoted wife Peggy, son Todd Stimpson Harris (Jala), grandsons James Leslie Harris and William Scott Harris, and stepdaughter Autumn Bailey (Ryan).
A reception to celebrate Todd’s life will be held on August 17, 2024 at 3pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Gotha, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or to the Cathedral Church of St. Luke, Orlando, FL.
