I am so sorry to learn of Vic's passing.  He was a major part of our business for over twenty years and a good friend, and extremely talented and dedicated worker.   Condolences from the Bergelt family to his.

I worked at the Taft Community Center for several years where I was able to meet and "work with" Vic Wise. Vic cared deeply for the Taft Community Center and his community. He was always available to lend a hand and  give thoughtful advice and support with projects. He could be counted on to let us  know when something at the Center needed attention. He was a true gentleman and I will miss him greatly.




Vic was a kind and giving man. I worked with him on the Taft books. He loved his family and was always talking about his sons and grandchildren. He appreciated history and knew it was important to preserve and document it. He was truly Taft’s ambassador! His legacy lives on with the historical displays at the Community Center as well as the Taft books. 

To Vic's family, my prayers are with you during this time of need. May God give you all His comfort & peace. Vic will be missed so much. Every time I go to the center & see his chair at his table, I will always remember him. He loved TAFT so much & he was always there to help in any way he was needed. He was a person that knew TAFT's history & was proud of it in the earlier days. I will miss you Vic.... Rest in Peace my  friend...


I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Vic 22 years ago when I hired on at Taft Water Association. We quickly became friends for life. I have never known a finer friend. He had such a love for family and community. He accepted myself and my family as part of his own, as we did him as well. He often spoke of his boys and of his experiences growing up. We shared so many laughs and good memories. He was such an inspiration and a reminder of the good that still existed. Though I will miss him greatly I set aside my sadness and heart break with the knowledge of knowing how heaven rejoiced to receive him, and that he is now with our Heavenly Father, many friends and love ones. I Thank God for the blessing of having such a friend!

Victor was preceded in death by Lloyd Wise (father), Nora Wise (mother), Roland and Elmo Wise (brothers), Eleanor Palmer (sister), Beatrice Wise (wife), Mary Wise (wife), David (son), and Douglas (grandson).

He is survived by his three sons:  Dale (Robin), Doug (Patricia), and Dan (Janet).
  
He is also survived by his grandchildren:  Lisa WiseStough (Ron), Lisa Pierce, Chris Wise (Natalia), Cari Salalac (Rodelio), Angela Wise, Phillip Schoppe, Shana Romano, Sam Wise and Anne Wise. Also his great grandchildren:  Joseph Wise, Victoria Wise, Marlene Wise, Cordelia Salalac, Skylar Romano, Maeson Wise and Grace Romano.
