Dr. Wenling "Bill" Zheng

It is with profound sadness that the family of Dr. Wenling (Bill) Zheng, MD, PhD announces his unexpected passing on August 19, 2026, at the age of 64. Dr. Zheng suddenly collapsed at his home in Orlando, Florida, and was transported to the hospital, where, despite emergency medical efforts, he passed away that afternoon.

Dr. Zheng was born on June 26, 1962, in Kaifeng, Henan Province, China. He later built his medical and academic career in Guangzhou, devoting his life to medicine, scientific discovery, education, and the pursuit of knowledge.A physician-scientist by training and vocation, Dr. Zheng completed postdoctoral research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), including work associated with the National Cancer Institute (NCI). He later was invited as Extraordinary talented personnel returned to China, where he served as a clinical oncologist, department director, professor, and researcher.Throughout his career, Dr. Zheng made extensive contributions to oncology, molecular biology, genomics, and cancer research. He authored and collaborated on numerous scientific publications and participated in a wide range of research projects. Obtained many national patents. Many of these efforts were undertaken together with his wife and lifelong partner, Dr. Wenli (Wendy) Ma, with whom he shared not only a family but also a deep commitment to medicine, research, and learning.In 2016, Dr. Zheng and his family immigrated to the United States and made Orlando, Florida their home. He continued his academic and teaching career in the United States, later serving as a professor at Five Branches University in California and the Florida College of Integrative Medicine. As an educator, he took great pride in sharing his broad knowledge of medicine, biomedical science, pathology, oncology, and integrative medicine with his students.Dr. Zheng was a lifelong scholar whose curiosity extended far beyond his professional work. He had an enduring love of books and learning and was deeply interested in medicine, science, history, philosophy, religion, and the larger questions of human life. To those who knew him, he was not only a physician, scientist, and professor, but also a man constantly seeking to understand the world more deeply. Above all, Dr. Zheng was devoted to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dr. Wenli (Wendy) Ma; his son, Dr. David M. Zheng; his daughter, Anqi (Angel) Zheng; his daughter-in-law, Wenyi Gong; and his cherished grandson, Kingsley G. Zheng, whom he adored deeply and who brought him immeasurable joy. His sudden departure leaves a profound absence in the lives of his family, friends, colleagues, students, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. His contributions to medicine and science will live on through his research and teaching, while his family will carry forward the values, knowledge, curiosity, and love that defined his life.Memorial & Remembrance Service: Thursday, August 27, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. The service will be attended by family and invited guests.Burial Service: Sunday, August 30, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Dr. Zheng will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Park in the Orlando area.Expressions of Remembrance: Flowers, written memories, and other meaningful personal tributes are warmly welcomed. 沉痛悼念郑文岭教授

我们怀着无比沉痛的心情告知亲友，敬爱的郑文岭教授于2026年8月19日在美国佛罗里达州奥兰多家中突然晕倒，随后被紧急送往医院抢救。虽经医护人员全力救治，仍于当日下午与世长辞，享年64岁。

郑文岭教授于1962年6月26日出生于河南省开封市，后来长期在广州工作与生活。他的一生与医学、科研、教育和求知紧密相连，也始终保持着对世界的好奇与探索。

作为一名医生和科研工作者，郑教授曾在美国国立卫生研究院（NIH）从事博士后研究，并参与美国国家癌症研究所（NCI）相关科研工作。其后应邀作为特殊人才引进回到中国，长期从事肿瘤临床、教学和科研，曾任分子肿瘤研究所所长、医学实验中心主任及教授。

在多年的学术生涯中，郑教授在肿瘤学、分子生物学、基因组学及癌症研究等领域开展了大量研究，申请并获得多项国家发明专利，发表众多学术论文，完成多项科研项目，并获得了多项科研成果一等奖。

2016年，郑教授与家人一同移居美国并定居奥兰多。来到美国后，他继续自己热爱的医学教育事业，先后在加州 Five Branches University（五系中医大学）和 Florida College of Integrative Medicine（佛州中医学院）担任教授，将多年积累的医学、生物医学、病理学、肿瘤学及整合医学知识传授给学生。

生活中的郑医生是一位真正的终身学习者。他酷爱阅读，对医学、科学、历史、哲学、宗教以及人生中的许多问题都有浓厚兴趣。熟悉他的人都知道，他总是在读书、思考和讨论，并提出了多项具有前瞻性的理论体系。

在所有身份之中，他最珍视的始终是家人。郑文岭教授身后留下深爱他的妻子马文丽（Wenli “Wendy” Ma）、儿子 David M. Zheng、女儿 Anqi（Angel）Zheng、儿媳 Wenyi Gong，以及他最疼爱、也为他带来无数欢乐的孙子 Kingsley G. Zheng。

他的突然离去，为家人、朋友、同事、学生以及所有曾有幸认识他的人留下了难以弥补的空缺。他在医学和科研领域留下的成果会通过研究与教学继续延续；而他留给家人的知识、求知精神、责任感和爱，也将一直陪伴着我们。
