William Louis Avant

Bill was born in Savannah, GA to parents Ernest David Avant and Ruby Lee Roberson Avant. Bill was drafted by the United States Army and served in Vietnam from 1969 – 1971. Bill has lived in Orlando, FL since 1972. Bill always had an affinity for aviation and worked in the industry for many years. He retired in April 2017 from United Airlines after working with them for 15 years.

Bill is survived by his wife Suzanne Avant, daughter Diane Thornton (spouse Jason), daughter Ellie Avant, grand-daughters Sydney Thornton, Lyndsey Thornton, and Reese Thornton, mother Ruby Lee Roberson Avant, brother Danny Avant (spouse Lil), and Marcella Avant (sister-in-law). He is preceded in death by his father Ernie and brother David.

Bill loved to fly, work on airplanes, work on cars, cook, and go deep sea fishing. Bill attained his A.S. degree from Valencia Community College.
