William John Cain, Jr, 93, has passed away. Born in Hibbing, Minnesota to William and Fanny Cain, Mr. Cain served our country in the Army during WWII. During his enlistment, he was decorated with the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, and both the American and Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Medals. Mr. Cain was a Merchant Marine, employed by Exxon throughout most of his working life, and in his spare time he enjoyed painting. He was also famous for being able to fix anything, as long as he had duct tape. Mr. Cain was the sole survivor of the Cain children, being predeceased by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived and greatly missed by daughters Deborah Anne Cain and Kathy Maurice, grandchildren Shawn Maurice and Genevieve Tromeley, and great-grandchildren Sara and Jayden Maurice. A visitation will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Sunday, March 26th from 2-4pm, with a service to start at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in William’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
