Passed away peacefully on March 11, 2016 while surrounded by his loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his son William (Billy) Compton Jr., his mother and father Margret
and Arthur Compton and his sister Gerogeann Neividomski.
Bill is survived by the love of his life and beloved wife of 48 years Cindy Compton, his daughter Denise Compton, two grandchildren Joshua and Jordyn who were his world and his two cousins Anthony and Mark.
Bill worked most of his career at Gunther Motors in Mendham NJ where he was a Mechanic, Shop Foreman and Service Manager. He was a Certified GM and ASE Master Technician.
But his real passion was Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He loved to both ride and work on them.
His home garage was his own workshop where many of his friends gathered on a regular basis.
With his garage door open, a smile on his face and a witty comment ready to be said he welcomed everyone.
Bill was a long time member of the HOG – Harley Owners Group, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. He was an Army Veteran who served in the Vietnam War.
Bill was an extraordinary man who touched the lives of many people.
He was a wonderful husband, a caring father, an amazing grandfather and the best friend anyone could ask for.
He will be sadly missed by all and hold a special place in the hearts of many.
