He was born in Memphis Tennessee on January 14, 1942. He was married to Shirley Jean Cowan for 58 years. Bill's love for his wife, Shirley, was unwavering. He placed her at the center of his universe, always ensuring her happiness and well-being. Their bond was a true testament to the power of enduring love and partnership.
Bill was not only a skilled professional in the construction industry, but also a devout Christian. His commitment to his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He devoted himself to his children and grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them. His compassion, wisdom, and guidance shaped the lives of those he loved, leaving a lasting impact on their journeys.
He is survived by four children, Sheryl Lynn White and her husband Tim of Salem, Virginia; Kimberly Ann Swenson of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Kelli Jean Hines and her husband, Justin of Orlando, Florida; William Jere Cowan II and his fiancé Kaily of Orlando, Florida. Son-in-law Mike Swenson of Virginia Beach, Va.
Six grandchildren, Blake, Sophia, Hailey, Brad, Kylie, and Sadie. Seven great-grandchildren, Kayla, Kenzie, Kennedy, Camden, Kimber, Carter and Nova.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Davis and his grandmother Diddy Lipscomb. His brothers Ricky Cowan and Tiger Davis. He is survived by sisters, Gina Webster, and Treasure Davis.
In honoring our father’s wishes, we will not be hosting a funeral. Your understanding is appreciated and we encourage you to cherish fond memories of him in your own individual way.
