

William Lee Cox, age 90, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, in Clermont, Florida. Born in 1935 in Enigma, Georgia, William's (Bill’s) life was a testament to hard work and perseverance. He spent his childhood as the son of sharecroppers, working the tobacco, cotton and peanut fields of southern Georgia.
In 1953, Bill answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Air Force, where he served honorably for four years. Following his military service, he began a 36 year long distinguished career at Motorola. Bill became a Galvin Master Sales and Account Manager, earning numerous awards for his excellence in radio communications systems sales.
Beyond his professional life, Bill was deeply involved in his community. He was a dedicated Mason and a proud member of the Shriners Dune Cats, where he shared in the fellowship and service of the organizations.
A dedicated Christian and born-again believer, Bill lived his life guided by his faith. He was a devoted family man, survived by his sister, Francis Cox Sanders. His loving wife of 67 years, Norma Gail Cox; his two daughters, Susan M. Milton (Tom) and Alisha C. Johnson (Alex); grandchildren, David Watts (Georgette), Thomas Milton, Blake Johnson (Cynthia), Kristina Summers (Chad), Nichole Smith (Chad), and Amanda Meyers; great-grandchildren, Dominick Watts, Oceana Weaver, Brice Summers, Sienna Watts, Emma Smith, Lucian Johnson, and Jacob Smith.
Bill will be remembered for his quiet strength, his professional integrity, and the deep love he had for his family and his faith.
A Celebration of Life service followed by Graveside service will be held on May 14, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734.
