William Harris "Bill" Faulkner, Sr., passed away peacefully, at his home, December 17, 2012. Born in Montgomery, Alabama, June 20, 1924 to Sollie Cleg Faulkner and Maude Ella Rhodes. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lewis Henry Faulkner. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marilyn Doster Faulkner. They were married on June 19, 1943 in Prattville, Alabama. He is survived by his children, William H. "Bill" Faulkner, Jr. (Brenda) of Franklin, NC and Linda Houston (Jim) of Orlando. His grandchildren, Scott Faulkner (Tammy), Orlando, Kristi Padilla (Shamon), Albuquerque, NM, Jeff Faulkner (Juliet), Roswell, Georgia, Jodi Faulkner Cunningham (Jason), Evans, Georgia; Jason Houston (Kristin), Cary, NC, Jeremy Houston (Jennifer), Orlando, William "Toby" Houston, Orlando. Great Grandchildren: Brittney Cloud (Ben), Carrie Geyer, Caitlin Faulkner, Natalie Faulkner, Kylie Faulkner, Bailey Cunningham, Noah Cunningham, Caleb Faulkner, Gabrielle Faulkner, Abigail Faulkner, Gabriel Houston, Kaitlyn Houston, Michelle Houston, Emma Houston, Ruby Houston. He is also survived by his brother, Stokes Faulkner (Myrl) of Montgomery, Alabama and sister-in-law, Betty Rucoba (Greg), Lompoc, CA and many nieces and nephews who loved him. Bill was a painting contractor and loved having a paint brush in his hands. He could make a paint brush move. He was a proud veteran of WWII and served his country as a Civil Engineer in Erlangin, Germany. If he wasn't on the job or working around his home, you could always find him at Dunkin Donuts drinking coffee with his buddies and telling his stories of growing up in Bullock County, Alabama. A long time memeber of Delaney Street Baptist Church, he worked with the Special Ed group and drove the church bus until his later years. Services will be December 20, 2012 at Woodlawn Cemetery.
