William Foster Flegal escaped this mortal realm on Monday, October 14, 2019 leaving behind his beloved partner of 49 years Ted McDonald, plus 48 bags of saline, 12 cases of dialysate, numerous needles and tubes, his home dialysis machine and a large container of black licorice.
Bill, the eldest child of Paul and Flo (Seymour) Flegal, was born on Sept 5, 1946 in McKeesport, PA and was a proud US Navy veteran, former tech manager, small business owner, and a communication leader for the Simulation, Training and Support Division of Lockheed Martin.
Known for his kind heart and witty demeanor, Bill was repeatedly recognized for his years of service on the Diversity Council, receiving the prestigious Galaxy Award for Diversity and Inclusion in 2008.
After his retirement from Lockheed, Bill began volunteering at The Center in Orlando where he coordinated operations. It was thru this venue where Bill and Ted met Ryan Rollie and he became their next project - eventually becoming a valued member of their household, soon to be a registered nurse and one of their proudest achievements.
Bill is survived by his partner Ted McDonald, housemate Ryan Rollie, favorite pest, best pal and sister Freda (Flegal) Nelson, her husband Doug who always wins at Buckaroo, and his former partners in mischief - nephews & nieces: Walter (Dana) Czekaj, Michael (Misty) Czekaj, Brett Czekaj and Amanda Nelson.
Bill is best remembered by his family for his diverse taste in music, his love for his parents, his wild abandonment jumping in puddles when it rained at theme parks and his and Ted’s excellent adventures each summer.
