William Foster Peacock and Barbara Dobbs Peacock

Bill was born in Urbana, Illinois on November 21, 1926. Barbara (Kitty) was born on October 29, 1926 in Marietta, Georgia. Their story together began at a church summer camp in 1951. They met, dated cross country for three months and were wed in December 1951. At that time Bill was in the ministry and had a church in Corinth, California. They were married by Bill’s father, also a minister, in Jackson, Mississippi, in Kitty’s family home. Their son Brad was born in Meridian Mississippi in 1954 and daughter, Denise followed in 1957 as they settled in Orlando where they would remain until moving to Lake County in 1972.

Bill would eventually leave the ministry and begin working at the Orlando Sentinel where he stayed until his retirement. Kitty worked as a Dental Assistant for many years and retired upon their move to Lake County.

Bill and Kitty were blessed with two grand-daughters, Jaime Brackett (Chase) and Haley Barton (Mike) and five great grandchildren – Jay, Ian, Ben, Lily and Chloe, all of Orlando.

Their lives were a testament to their love for each other, their faith in God, and commitment to family. Their deaths, Bill on June 1 and Kitty on June 5, mark only the end of their physical presence on earth - their legacy lives on in their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be passed on for generations to come.
