William (Bill) Talmon Pyburn, was born September 28, 1929 in Andalusia, Alabama to Oliver and Pearlie Pyburn. He was born during the great depression to parents who lost everything, so he learned what it was like for people to help each other. This was instrumental in him helping friends, neighbors and relatives in their times of need. Always doing it in the background quietly, not wanting any recognition or glory because it was the right thing to do. Bill was the oldest of four boys.
As soon as he was able, he enlisted in the U.S. Army because he believed it was the right thing to do. He remained in the Army for a total of twenty-six years. Serving across the United States, Europe, Hawaii and Vietnam.
After retiring, he worked a variety of jobs that allowed him and his wife to take the summers off and travel throughout the Eastern U.S.
His hobbies were; tinkering in his workshop, making metal novelties which he would sell at flea markets, fishing (especially with his father), and visiting relatives.
Bill is survived by Sandra Cunningham (daughter), Sheila Gilbert (niece), Danny Green (stepson), David Green (stepson), Charles Pyburn (brother), Richard Pyburn (nephew) and Tammy Purvis (niece).
