Yolanda found her husband, Lester, through a dating service in Tampa, Florida. Both had been divorced and looking for a new partner but having no luck. On the first date she opened the door with her hair done in Spanish style braids on top of her head and a blue and white Spanish style dress with lace. Lester thought she was the most beautiful and interesting woman he had ever met and they were married on 15 September, 1979. They were married for 44 years and wanted to have many more.
Yolanda was a mother, wife and worker. She had 4 children (James, Michael, Brian and Alexander), 6 grandchildren (Ashleigh, TyLynn, Alaric, Megan, Trent and Michael), and 2 great grandchildren (Carson and Everly). She and her husband were a perfect couple. She had an eye for decorating and the house was beautiful, she would pick paint colors and wallpaper and her husband would do the rest. During the holidays she would decorate the interior of the house and her husband would do the outdoor decorations. She was an excellent cook and many holidays had a house full of relatives for dinner. She loved her crafting hobbies and all the wall decorations in the house were her handmade cross stitch, mosaics, crafting kits and her favorite diamond dots. She also loved the outdoors and the yard was full of flowers and plants that gave color and life to the house.
She worked as an office manager for elementary schools in Orange County Florida before retiring.
Yolanda was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald Pelaez and Carmen Aguilar, both of Tampa, Florida.
Lester cared for her with his whole heart and strength to the end. Yolanda will be cherished forever by her children and especially her husband.
