Alton Parish

PARISH, Al (Alton) – of Grand Blanc, age 78, peacefully passed away at his home on September 14, 2012. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, MI. Burial follows at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and Monday. Al was born July 6, 1934 in Burton, MI the son of the late William (Tim) and Lilly (Delia) Parish. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served 16 ½ months in Korea with the 7th Infantry Division. He loved Bluegrass music, working in his garden, and mowing his yard. Al really enjoyed spending time with his family, singing and playing the guitar. Surviving are: children, Fran(ny) Trombley and husband Jarrett, Ann Marie Bradley and husband Matt, Al (Alton) Parish and Heather; grandchildren, Jessica, Shane, Matthew and wife Brenda, Harmony and husband Rob, and Amber and fiancé Jake; great-grandchildren, Matthew III (Tre), Sophia, and Chase Alton. Al was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; brothers, Hilliard (Bami), Edwin, Edsel, Everett , and Uhland; sisters, Dothy, Ruth, and twin sister, Alma; and his two little best friends, Knuckles and Kneezie.
