I never had the pleasure of meeting Amanda but do know that Carl loved her very much and talked about her and his girls constantly. He was awaiting the arrival of Sophie. As a mother, hearing this news was very heartbreaking and traumatic. God has received two special angels to watch over Maya and Carl. You will meet again one day. I am thankfull I had the opportunity to know Amanda , my great niece and saddened that I won't know Sophie.She was special to so many people especially to Carl and Maya.Iam reminded by her life to love sincerely and deeply. She will be deeply missed.

I didn't know Amanda, but I'm a mom and expectant mom in the area.  When I read her story, my heart broke.  I happened to read Amanda's mom's comments on a news outlet and truly admired your grace in such an awful time.  My prayers are with you and your family as you grieve, now and for years to come.

Unfortunately I never had the pleasure of meeting Amanda but its seems from all the wonderful messages she was a great person and touched many lives. I only know of her now and think of her whenever I enter and exit my apartment complex, where that day, she and little Sophie surely met our Lord Jesus. My heart sunk to hear why the road to my home was closed and I was very saddened to find out the result of the accident. Although we may not know each other, we all are children of God and as a sister in Christ my heart mourns with you and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and friends. May Gods love comfort and sustain you during this difficult time.

I find it very difficult to wrap my mind around the tragic loss of Amanda and baby Sophie.  I knew Amanda as a fellow Social Worker, having met her initially during my job as Local LTC Ombudsman. Over the years, I learned to know that Amanda was the kindest, most compassionate Social Worker I had ever met. I never saw her without that beautiful smile and she often showed me her most recent photo of Maya and Carl.  Her family was so important to her and she simply glowed just speaking of them! The health care field has lost a person who genuinely cared about the families she served.  My heart is broken for the family she has left behind, but, as many have stated before me, Heaven has gained 2 new Angels in Amanda and Sophie Grace. May our Loving Lord give the Rouse & Rice families comfort as you all deal with the such a loss. Amanda touched my life and I felt blessed to have met such a warm, wonderful person. She is the kind of Social Worker we all strive to be.  I pray you find some measure of comfort in knowing your Amanda helped so many families with her knowledge, kindness and great words of advice. Amanda was a very caring person who helped a lot of people. I worked with her for about 5 years and we were pregnant together. I know she will be greatly missed and always loved. Carl if you need anything don't hesitate to ask.

I cannot imagine the loss you have suffered. I have a daughter the same age as yours and am the same age as Amanda. I held my daughter so tight the night she died. Amanda was a joy to work with and I'm glad I got the privilege to know her. She truly cared about other people. This one pacticular time a patient passed and we were so upset we stood with the family members hugging them and crying right along with them. Amanda had a heart of gold! The universe suffered a great loss the day she passed away. She left this life to soon, and sadly enough just like how she worked hard and ensured people recieved a proper quality of life; i want to believe that God took her and Sophie home quickly allowing her to keep hers.I will continue to keep Carl and Maya in my thoughts and prayers and send my greatest sympathy.

I read about this terrible accident in the paper and my heart broke.  I do not personally know the family but, I lost a sister at age 35 and she left a 9 tear old son. My prayers and condolences go out to you and your family.

One of the sweetest people I have ever known. My thoughts and prayers are with the Rouse family.

I didn't know Amanda personally, but my heart grieves for her husband and daughter.  A few months ago, I was also involved in a car accident when I was 8 months pregnant with our son.  Life is so precious, and we must cherish every moment that the Lord gives us with our loved ones on this earth.  Praying that you are comforted by God's peace that transcends all understanding.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Amanda and baby Sophie!  Amanda was not only a co-worker but also a friend.  She brightened many lives!  Please know how proud she was to be a wife and mother, always talking about her family, especially Maya.  My prayers and thoughts are with her family and loved ones at this difficult time.

Amanda was my such a fierce friend.... really she was and will always be my sister.  Anything was fun if I was doing it with her - from having cookouts in 30 degree weather to sitting all day in my garage doing joint garage sales and even wallpapering a house!  My heart is so broken, and yet I know that Amanda is looking into the eyes of Jesus...and I will get to see her again.
