YOUNT, Annetta (Sue). Age 86, On July 26, 2017 Sue went to be with her Lord. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family. Annetta (Sue) was born in Flint, Michigan, March 4, 1931. She married the love of her life Donald Paul Yount on July 12, 1952 to whom she was married for almost 64 years. Don preceded her in death on May 15, 2015, and now, after two years of missing him, they are reunited in heaven. To those who loved her, Sue was known as Nana and was a homemaker to whom her family was always the most important thing in her life. She loved to cook and bake and would find any reason to have a family dinner or celebrate any holiday. Nana spent countless hours decorating cakes to celebrate her grandchildren’s accomplishments and working in the kitchen teaching them how to cook and decorate cakes themselves. She also sewed patches on uniforms, made horse show clothes, or drapes for her grandchildren’s homes. It didn’t matter what her family needed her to cook, decorate, or make she figured out how to do it for them. Nana traveled because she wanted to show the country to her children and grandchildren and because Don loved to, but she loved to be home. One of the best times of her life was the year they spent in China. She loved the Oriental culture and was thrilled to show that country to her family. Sue and Don raised their children at Bethlehem United Methodist Church where they attended for over 25 years. They also attended Hope United Methodist and, most recently, Flint Central Church of the Nazarene. Sue was known as a woman with a strong faith in God. She worked her entire life in her church for her Lord, helping with youth group projects, cooking in the church kitchen, decorating the church for holidays and later in life giving her time to mentor younger women through ”Apples of Gold” at the Eastside Mission. She will be remember with love by Daughter, Mrs. Rebecca (Steven) Shust, Daughter, Dr. Melinda Benn, Grandchildren Mrs. Nicole (Dr. Michael) Carlisle, Mr. David (Michelle) Benn, Mrs. Alicia (Sean) Clayton, Five Great Grandchildren Brixton, Lochlan, Kinsman, and Miralette Carlisle, and Ellis Paul Clayton. Many Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and Loving Friends. A special Thank You to her double cousins Mary Ann, Martha, and Sandy who assisted with her care these past few months. Nana, we will always carry your memory in our hearts. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday August 5, 2017 at 11:30am at Brown Funeral Home 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. The family will receive visitors Friday, August 4, 2017 from 3:00 to 8:00pm and Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Eastside Mission whose purpose was very dear to Sue’s heart.
