Barbara Jean Lusty

Lusty, Barbara Jean of Fenton, age 95, died peacefully in her sleep Thursday, June 15, 2023. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am Monday, June 19, 2023 with a visitation starting at 9am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church - 2415 Bagley St., Flint, Michigan. Father Thomas Firestone will be officiating. Burial will be held at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, June 18 at St. John Vianney Church from 4pm-8pm with a rosary at 7pm. Barbara was born in Flint on January 10, 1928, the daughter of Donald and Ethel (Murray) Frawley. She was a graduate of St. Matthews High School in Flint. She was a member of St. John Vianney for over 70 years and served in the Altar Society. Barbara married John R. Lusty Sr. on September 5, 1953. Her husband of 46 years died in 1999. She will be deeply missed by her family. She is survived by her son, James (Lynn) Lusty; daughter, Barbara A Lusty; grandchildren: Barbara J, Angela, Bonnie, Joey, Carrie, Donny, Marianne, Jenna, Janelle, Ryan, and Johnny; 22 great grandchildren; brother, Donald Frawley; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; children: John R Lusty Jr. and Jean E (Lusty) Liwak. Barbara's faith was central to her life and she prayed for everyone she knew. She enjoyed spending time with people and playing games. She spent many years being a Girl Scout Leader and enjoyed telling stories of her and her family's life.
