Barry Lee Schlager Jr.

Barry was born in Flint, Michigan to the late Barry and Rita (Haley) Schlager on November 25, 1961.

He attended Swartz Creek High School graduating in 1979. Barry attended Michigan State University Graduating In 1983 with a Bachelor's Degree, Double Majoring in Psychology and English and was a lifelong fan of the Spartans.

He enjoyed Poetry and Science fiction and was a published poet.

Barry leaves behind two daughters, Tierney (Harrison) Dochenetz; two grandchildren; siblings Laura (Jim) Flickema, Mary Beth (Dan) Hardaker, and Angela Schlager; nephews Andrew (Nichole) Flickema, Matthew Flickema and Jacob Hardaker; and niece Ashley Jankowiak.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Barry and Rita and his special Aunt Mary Haley. Barry's humor and wit will be deeply missed by all who new him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice in Barry's honor.

A Memorial Mass for Barry will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 10:00am with visitation at 9:30am at St. Pius X Catholic Church - 3139 Hogarth Avenue, Flint, Michigan.
