

Bernice I. Rayburn, 93, of Grand Blanc, MI passed away peacefully March 8, 2026 after a long, full life. She was born August 12, 1932 in Grand Blanc, MI to Lewis and Bertha Rhoades as the last of nine children. Bernice was married April 21, 1951 to the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Marvin W. Rayburn. They had three sons, Richard M. (Denise) Rayburn, James A. (Ruth) Rayburn, and Douglas S. (Kathy) Rayburn.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband; her son James; both parents; and her siblings and their spouses: Pauline (Clark) Hiler, Dorothy (Elmer) Embury, Wilbur (Helen) Rhoades, Phyllis (Louis) Selesky, Phillip (Fern) Rhoades, C. Dallas (Doris, Dolores) Rhoades, Evelyn (Bus) Kelver, and Ralph (Madge, Eva) Rhoades.
Bernice graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1950 and worked several jobs including an ice cream shop before becoming the secretary for the Grand Blanc Transportation Office for 17 years. After retirement, she worked for a computer repair store. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and even mowing her own lawn late in life.
Bernice had five grandchildren — Regina (Robert) Johnston, Aaron (Christina) Rayburn, Jeff Rayburn, Becky Rayburn, and Johnathan (Heather) Rayburn — and nine great grandchildren — Parker, Ashlin, Kinsie, Alpheus, Harbor, Emily, Annabella, James, and Johnathan.
The memorial will be held at Hill Funeral Home, Grand Blanc, March 11, 2026, with visitation from 11 am to 2 pm and the funeral at 2 pm. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc.
