RUSH, CAROL FRANCES age 86, went to Heaven on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at The Oaks of Woodfield in Grand Blanc, where she resided for the past two and one-half years. Her Memorial Service will be held at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St, Grand Blanc Mi, on Wednesday, March 20. Visitors will be received from 3:00 to 3:30, after which Heartland Hospice Chaplain Craig Anglin will officiate at the service. Carol was born in Flint on May 25, 1932 to William and Lois Rush. She graduated from Flint Central High School and received her BA and MA from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Carol taught English at Grand Blanc High School for over 30 years and was chairman of the English Department, as well. After retirement, Carol taught English at Mott Community College for a few years. She was a long-time member of the American Association of University Women and a member of Grand Blanc Senior Center where she developed her artistic abilities on canvas. Besides painting, she was an avid reader, a basket weaver, a needlepointer, and a gourmet cook. Carol loved her many cats, especially her latest cat, Timmy. Surviving her are friend and caregiver Sally Tartoni, friends Mickie Riek, Kay Snuffer, Michael Newton,Howard and Martha Bondy. Thanks to all the many people at the Oaks and Heartland Hospice, especially Dr. Amy Daros who took great care of Carol. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FISH of Grand Blanc (PO.
