

NICHOLS, Carter Elwood went to be with the Lord on the evening of Saturday, July 9th, 2016. He was surrounded by his family. He was born in Goodrich, MI November 2, 1938. He graduated from Goodrich High School in 1956, where he played football under the nickname of "Wings". He served in the Army and graduated from Western Michigan University. He married the love of his life, Suzanne Bostwick in 1961. He was a math teacher at Holly Middle School and Swartz Creek Middle School. Carter is a church member of The River (Goodrich). Carter enjoyed hunting, fishing, and puzzles of all kinds, animated movies, his children, grandchildren and great grandson. He loved sunsets and all things about nature, but most of all the Lord. He was proceeded in death by his parents Chester Elwood Nichols and Ardath Ruth Nichols He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Nichols, his children, son Gary Nichols and wife Judy of Canton, their children Jacob, Anna and Stephen; daughter Gidget Jennifer Johnson and husband Marty of Atlanta, daughter Anne Brunn and husband Jason of Laingsburg, their children Victoria Miller, RJ Miller and McKenna Miller; and great grandson Carter James. His brother John Nichols and wife Sherry of Burt; his sister Ann Meranda and husband John of Holly. There will be a committal service at Great Lakes Cemetery at a later date.
