Charles Richard Keeley

From his earliest years, Charles found joy in the open air and the pull of the water. He loved camping, canoeing, jet skiing on the lake, and riding dune buggies—pursuits that reflected a steady energy and a lasting appreciation for time spent outdoors.

Charles also valued connection and community. He loved socializing and was liked by so many people, and he especially enjoyed being with his walking group. In the summer, he often visited his local bookstore, where he would frequently see concerts, blending a fondness for familiar places with an eagerness to be part of what was happening around him.

He enjoyed traveling and carried through life with a restlessness that was less about impatience than about engagement—never liking to be still, but always on the go, seeking the next conversation, the next outing, the next shared moment.

Charles will be remembered with respect and gratitude by all who had the privilege to know him.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory his son Charles Keeley II of Burton, Michigan, stepbrother Alan J. Hartwick Jr. of Corona, California and half-sister Carrie Keeley of Pembroke, New Hampshire.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Wilma (Moyle) Keeley and step-father Al Hartwick.
