BRUINSSLOT, David Conant – age 80 passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 in Grand Blanc, Michigan. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 12 PM at Brown Funeral Home – 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan with Reverend Tommy McDoniel officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 3 PM – 6PM at Brown Funeral Home. David was born on November 11, 1935 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Hendrikus and Charlotte (Fisher) BruinsSlot. David married Lorene Philp in 1976 in Flint, Michigan. For the next 40 years, David would map a route and together they would explore the countryside. He worked for State Farm and Michigan Mutual as an insurance adjuster. He later worked in Flint, as an elementary teacher. David loved to read, especially history books. He loved his dogs, trains, and photographing the family moments. David is survived by his wife Lorene; dog: Bobby; sister-in-law: Shirley (Jim) Craig; brother-in-law: Doug (Nancy) Philp; nephews: Anthony Craig, Robert Craig, Scott Philp; nieces: Lindsay Lindemann; and several cousins in Grand Rapids, Michigan. David was preceded in death by his parents, Hendrikus and Charlotte BruinsSlot. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society in memory of David.
